The Honoree was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Violeta Escala Aquino and children: Adrienne Mae; Gil Anthony; and Gil Alexis. During his valedictory, Police Director Aquino Jr said, “The things I related could be summarized into the following lessons and values: first, seek responsibility; second, maximize your stay in an assignment but do not overstay. Learn as much as you can; third, enter the office early and leave late. Set the example to your people; fourth, do not endeavor to be “good looking” at the expense of others, especially your peers; fifth, make haste slowly; and sixth, Balance your career and your personal life. Be a good policeman/woman but also be a better father or mother. Success in your career will be naught if your family is discordant. Likewise, being a good/responsible father or mother may also be a liability if you do not perform your responsibilities to the level that is expected of you.”

The Honoree finally said, “Now I am and will always be a field officer and I found the deepest fulfillment of my professional career commanding this region, PRO 13 CARAGA. So here I am, sharing the culmination of my career with you, ladies and gentlemen.”
