Caraga cops recovered P457M worth of cocaine in the shoreline of Surigao del Norte

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ------ Caraga cops successfully recovered a total of Php457,125,000.00 worth of cocaine in the shoreline of Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte.

Tuesday afternoon, February 12, personnel of Cagdianao Municipal Police Station recovered a total of 37 bricks of cocaine with a total weight of 48.825 kilograms with Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value worth Php244,125,000.00.

The 36 bricks of cocaine were recovered by local police in the shoreline of Sitio Habongan, Barangay Poblacion, Cagdianao, Dinagat subsequently after a fisherman of Purok 2 of said barangay reported and presented to Cagdianao MPS a brick of suspicious item containing white substance which yielded a positive result for the presence of cocaine on the screening test conducted by Regional Crime Laboratory Office (RCLO) 13.

Yesterday afternoon, February 14, a member of local populace reported to San Isidro MPS about the presence of suspected items in rectangular shape in the shoreline of Barangay Pacifico, San Isdiro, Surigao del Norte. The coastline interdiction operation conducted by local police resulted in the recovery of 27 bricks of cocaine. A follow-up operation conducted today, February 15, by PNP Caraga led by PRO13 Director himself, Chief Supt Gilberto DC Cruz, together with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 13 personnel resulted in the recovery of another 13 bricks of cocaine. The two operations yielded a total of 40 bricks weighing 40 kilos with DDB value of Php212,000,000.00. Said cocaine bricks were labeled with ‘3B Bugatti’.

PNP Caraga is yet to determine the drug syndicate group behind these disintegrated cocaine bricks.

“The community has significantly contributed in the successful recovery of a total of 77 cocaine bricks with a total weight of 88.825 kilograms and total amount of Php457,125,000.00,” said RD Cruz.

“We urged the community to continue supporting the PNP especially in our intensified campaign against illegal drugs and criminality. The long arm of the law will surely catch the person/s or syndicate group behind the spread of this illegal substance,” RD said in conclusion.

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ------ Collaborative efforts of Caraga Police resulted in the successful arrest of Ricky Baliche Danao, 30 years old and a resident of Barangay Don Francisco, Butuan City, five days after he kidnapped the two-year old daughter of his live-in partner.

On February 11, the grandmother of the child reported to Barobo MPS that on Sunday morning, February 10, her grandchild was kidnapped by the live-in partner of her daughter. It was found out that the mother of the child, who was working in Manila, and the suspect were no longer in good terms.
The PNP personnel of Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO) spearheaded by PSSUPT Francisco Dungo, Provincial Director, together with Barobo MPS and 1301st Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13 in coordination with Butuan City Police Office, conducted joint entrapment operation to arrest the suspect and rescue the child.

“The cooperation of the mother of the child, who has been feeding information to our cops helped our police in his successful arrest,” Chief Supt Gilberto Cruz, PRO13 Director said.

Around 9 o’clock this morning, February 15, Danao was arrested in Guingona Subdivision, Butuan City where police operatives learned from the suspect the whereabouts of the kidnapped child.

Immediately thereafter, operating troops together with representative from Department of Social Welfare and Development of Barobo conducted rescue operation which resulted in the successful recovery of the said victim in Purok 4, Tambis, Barangay Afga, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.

Barobo MPS is preparing the appropriate charges to be filed against Danao.

A date with RD Cruz

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ------ Fifty Eight couples show up on the 1st Valentine’s Day date with the Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Gilberto DC Cruz held at HPRO13 Multi-Purpose, Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City, last night (February 14, 2019).

It was the first Valentine’s Day date with the Regional Director in the history of PRO13.The participating couples were extremely happy and received gifts from RD Cruz. The program was highlighted with a raffle draw of nine couple watches and five portable speakers and the couples singing contest were the couple from Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13 bags the title fight. Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office contingent place 2nd and Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office grabs 3rd place.
Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell Amante-Matba and Judge Emmanuel E Escatron also grace the activity who lauded the initiative of RD Cruz.

Valentine’s Day date with the Regional Director was just one of the events during the Valentines celebration in the camp. Another huge activity was the Kasalan sa Kampo 2019 were three PNP couples received a special cash gift.

The Regional Director reminded the couples to remain steadfast in their relationships as this is not only a covenant among them but also with God.

Suspect in deadly hit-and-run, surrenders to police

Charlie Cayetano Prior, a former spiritual adviser in Butuan City Hall, has surrendered to police in connection with the hit-and-run accident last February 7, Thursday, that took the life of Dr. Zuriel G Arambulo, a Department of Health-Doctor to the Barrio in Santiago, Agusan del Norte.

The accident transpired along national highway, Zone-2, Barangay Poblacion 2, Santiago, Agusan del Norte, around 8:50PM. Dr. Arambulo was brought to Cabadbaran District Hospital for medical attention but was pronounced Dead on Arrival (DOA) by the attending physician.

Police Chief Superintendent Gilberto DC Cruz, PRO13 Director, said the PNP Caraga received a number of tips about the case but during the conduct of investigation, none of the reported vehicles were involved in the incident.

The Php50,000.00 offered by RD Cruz as reward to the person who will lead to the recovery of the vehicle and arrest of the driver added pressure to the offender which resulted in his surrender.

A press conference was held this afternoon at HRPO13 Conference Room regarding the surrender of Pastor Prior, which was attended by the Regional Director himself, PSSUPT Ramir Perlito Perlas, the Provincial Director of Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office, Regional Crime Laboratory Office and representatives from Department of Health Regional Office 13.

“Hair strands were recovered by Scene of the Crime Operatives from the vehicle and will be subjected for DNA testing, while the vehicle is under the custody of Crime Laboratory Office 13 for further scientific examination” said RD Cruz.

Sports Fest Opened at PRO 13

Sports Fest was opened at Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 in line with PRO13 Physical Conditioning and Sports Development Program here yesterday.

Nine teams composed of personnel from the PNP Regional Headquarters, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, and National Support Units participated in the opening program around 3:00PM.

The activity started with a parade inside the camp followed by an opening program headed by Police Chief Supt Gilberto DC Cruz, Regional Director of PRO13.

In his speech, PCSUPT Cruz hoped that the activity is not just all about winning but to build rapport, foster teamwork, and to be more unified as a team, which will result into greater enthusiasm and productivity in a workplace.
