Task Force "Balik Loob" awards E-CLIP to Former Rebels

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- 96 Former Rebels were awarded with the government’s assistance under the Tasked Force “Balik Loob” Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) at Villa Maria Luisa Hotel, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, yesterday (November 10, 2018).

The awarding ceremony was graced by Secretary Eduardo M Año, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG); Asst. Secretary Alexander L Macario, DILG; Under Secretary Reynaldo B. Mapagu of Department of National Defense; Governor Vicente L Pimentel Jr, Surigao del Sur; Hon Angel Amante Matba, Chairperson of Regional Peace and Order Council; Mayor Alexander T Pimentel, Tandag City Mayor; Lilibeth A Famacion, Regional Director of DILG13; PCSupt Gilberto DC Cruz, Regional Director of PRO13; and Lt. General Benjamin R. Madrigal Jr, Commander of Eastern Mindanao Command.

The event was highlighted by the distribution of financial assistance and the remuneration for the surrendered firearms.

On the other hand, PRO13 appeals to the active CPP-NPA Terrorists and Militia ng Bayan (MB) to give up their arms and become beneficiaries of the E-CLIP because our government is extending hands to them with an optimal objective of lasting peace in the country.

Butuan City Cops seized Php354K worth of shabu; 3 arrested

Camp Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- Butuan City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested three drug suspects in a buy bust operation in Ultimate Apartelle, Capitol Drive, Brgy. Dagohoy, Butuan City, early morning today.

Caraga Police Regional Director, Chief Superintendent Gilberto DC CRUZ said that a joint buy-bust operation by the Butuan City cops and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA13) was conducted that resulted in the arrest of Rico Quezada, Randy Galolo and Arche Toyogon all are residents of Mangagoy, Bislig City.

The operatives confiscated 2 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 30 grams with DDB value of Php354,000 and illegal drug paraphernalia during the operation.

RD Cruz said that cooperation and sharing of information with the community is one of the most effective in combating the illegal drugs activities.

Three Lumads Killed in Agusan del Norte

Camp Col Rafael Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City-----Three lumads who belong to the Higaunon and Dagatnon tribes were slain by the members of New People’s Army operating in the area of Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Police Chief Superintendent Gilberto DC Cruz, Caraga Police Director, has ordered Buenavista Municipal Police Station to conduct thorough investigation on the lumad killings victimizing Alfredo Tomaquin Sr, 61 years old; Paka Pinatugaw, 47 years old; and Pina Pinatugaw, 48 years old, all are male, married, farmers and residents of Sitio Bagang, Brgy Simbalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Multiple hacks and gunshot wounds were found in the victims’ bodies which have caused their unfortunate death.
Investigation revealed that on the morning of November 6, 2018, the three victims went to the farm of Wang Gew Ryoo, a Korean National, in Sitio Labong, Barangay Simbalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte but were not able to go home by the evening. The dead bodies of the poor victims were found a day after (November 7) by Danilo Tomaquin, the son of Alfredo. Fired cartridges of M16 and carbine were recovered in the area where dead bodies were found.

“The Police Regional Office 13 strongly condemns the lumad killings perpetrated by the NPA rebels. Justice will be served to the family of the victims,” RD Cruz said.

PRO13’s 4th Quarter 2018 Sportsfest Commenced

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City----The opening ceremony of 4th Quarter 2018 Sportsfest of Police Regional Office 13 was held yesterday, November 6, 2018, around 3 o’clock in the afternoon inside the PRO13 camp.

The opening ceremony was graced by participants from Regional Headquarters, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, Butuan City Police Office, Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office, National Operational Support Units (NOSU) and National Administrative Support Offices (NASOs).

The ceremony began with a parade inside the camp. Highlights of the activity were the torch lighting that symbolizes peace and unity with flame as light of spirit, knowledge, and life; the recitation of oath of sportsmanship; and the giving of awards and trophies to the winners of the 3rd Quarter 2018 Sportsfest.

Chief Supt GILBERTO DC CRUZ said that, “The sportsfest was organized to build rapport, to foster teamwork among co-workers, to be more unified as a team, which will hopefully result into greater enthusiasm and productivity in the workplace.”

“This event is an opportunity to showcase the talents, develop psychomotor skills, and will let the PNP personnel acquire virtues that are needed in policing,” CRUZ concluded.

Additional Cops Deployed for Undas 2018

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- During the sendoff ceremony held here today around 5:30AM, personnel the headquarters of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 will be deployed to the cemeteries and other places of convergence as additional force to secure the All Saints' Day and All Souls’ Day.

Around 2,000 cops from the different PNP units regionwide were deployed to provide maximum security coverage and public safety services for Undas 2018.
PRO13 has created earlier the task group Undas to oversee the implementation of security operations like the deployment of PNP personnel and inspection of the operability of resources.

“We ensure that the holiday runs smoothly in partnership with the Local Government Units, other government agencies, communities, force multipliers and other stakeholders. Let us work together to make these occasions more peaceful and orderly” Chief Superintendent Gilberto DC Cruz, PRO13 Director said.

The deployed police personnel will conduct foot and mobile patrols, serve as road safety marshals, and man police assistance hubs.
