600 Motorcycle riders and enthusiast joins PRO13 launching of Clean Riders

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City------More than 600 motorcycle-riders and enthusiasts participated in the launching of PNP’s newest campaign plan “Clean Rider” which aims to curb crimes perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects at Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 today.
“This is a serious move by the PNP. It aims mainly to underscores the total elimination of crimes committed by these motorcycle-riding suspects, eradicate road unworthy motorcycles, impound stolen motorcycles, and ensure the safety and security of the law-abiding motorcycle riders,” said Police Chief Superintendent Noli A Romana PRO13 Regional Director.

Also present during the launching were ranking police officials of PRO13 led by Acting Deputy Regional Director for Operations PSSUPT Jimili L Macaraeg, who delivered the message of the regional director to 20 motorcycle clubs and enthusiast; Regional Staff, Regional Highway Patrol Group, Crime Laboratory Office 13, media personalities and other PNP personnel of PRO13.

A promotional video was presented that followed a signing of the Pledge of Commitment to encouraged riders to obtain a Clean Rider sticker by applying for one at police stations in their localities.

Motorcycle-riders will only need to submit the official receipt and certificate of registration of his motorcycle, his driver’s license and other valid identification cards. Once a rider and a vehicle pass inspection, they would be given a sticker with security features.
PCSUPT Romana reminded that the clean rider sticker and serial number are non-transferrable.
He also reminded the motorists to immediately report to the nearest police station if they lose their clean rider sticker or serial number.

PRO13 Top Cop ordered relief of 16 Chief of Police from post over ‘poor performance’

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City------ The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 top cop ordered the immediate relief of 16 Chiefs of Police in Caraga region from their respective posts over their poor performance in the government's anti-illegal drug campaign.

Caraga Regional Director, Chief Superintendent Noli A Romana, ratified the recommendation of the Oversight Committee on Illegal Drugs on the fast relief of the 16 Municipal Chiefs of Police who either had "no or low accomplishment" in the anti-illegal drug campaign in their area of responsibility.

The oversight committee headed by PSSupt Jimili L Macaraeg, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Operations, decided to recommend to get rid of the police heads of Santiago MPS, Las Nieves MPS, Kitcharao MPS, and Magallanes MPS of Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office; Taganaan MPS, Bacuag MPS and San Francisco MPS of Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office; and Cantilan MPs, Marihatag MPS, Cagwait MPS and Madrid MPS of Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office.

“The COPs failed to meet the requirements presented by the oversight committee on the number of accomplishment in their anti-illegal drugs operation,” PCSupt Romana pointed out.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Director of Dinagat Islands Provincial Police Office already relieved five of its Chiefs of Police from their post.

Other low performers were warned to intensify their operations, otherwise will also be relieved of their posts.

“All Chiefs of Police in our region are reminded to maximize their efforts on anti-criminality operations especially on illegal drugs or they will face the same fate if they fail to meet the requirements set by the oversight committee,” Romana warned.

3 nabbed in drug war in Caraga

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City--- Three persons were arrested in separate anti- drug operations in Caraga, yesterday.

According to PCSupt Noli A Romana, Regional Director PRO13, Surigao City Drug Enforcement Unit conducted anti-illegal drug operation through buy-bust in Brgy, Rizal, Surigao City that resulted in the arrest of Job E Cayasa, 33, construction worker. Operatives confiscated of 18 sachets of shabu with estimated weight of 10 grams and DDB value of Php118,000.00 and drug paraphernalia.

Other suspects were arrested by Drug Enforcement Unit of Cababaran City Police Station through buy-bust operation arrested William Ballono Jr a.k.a Pedondo in Purok 6, Mabini, Cabadbaran City. Ballano was caught in the act selling shabu and recovered from his possession were 3 sachets of shabu with estimated weight of 0.250 grams with DDB Value P2,950.00 and drug paraphernalia.

Meantime, another operation in the vicinity of Brgy. Otienza, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur, operatives apprehended alyas Maria Santos. Confiscated in her possession were 4 sachets of shabu with estimated weight of 0.339 with DDB value of Php4,000.00.

They all face charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

“The police force will continue its unwavering efforts to stop the illegal drug trade in the region and reinvigorate its anti-criminality campaign to ensure safety and security of the Caraganons,” PCSupt NOLI A ROMANA disclosed.

3,000 board feet of Lumbers Seized in Caraga

Camp Col Rafael Rodriguez, Butuan City---------- Caraga police confiscated 3,000 board feet of assorted Narra, Magcuno, and Kamagong lumber worth Php 285,000 in Lianga town, Surigao del Sur during anti-illegal logging operations.

The operatives of Lianga Municipal Police Station arrested Pedro T Radin, 36; Jason G Gayas, 26; Samuel T Bahian, 28; Baflor L Antonio, 47; Delfin H Calolo, 25; and John Louise G Vicente, 33; all resident of Libona, Damilag, Bukidnon around 4:30AM yesterday after their Isuzu Wing Van truck bearing plate number ACN 7830 loaded with the said endangered forest product.

“The arrested suspects were brought to the police station for documentation in filing of charges for violation of PD No. 705 while the confiscated lumber will be turn-over to DENR”, Chief Supt NOLI A ROMANA, Regional Director said.

The region’s police chief also urges the public to adhere to environmental laws and help the authorities in preserving the forest in Caraga.
