525 law violators nabbed in Caraga-wide police ops

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City---A total of 525 individuals facing different charges were arrested 30 days since the assumption to office of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 director, Chief Supt Gilberto DC Cruz.

From September 11-October 11, 2018, police arrested 121 drug personalities, 206 wanted persons, 78 violators of illegal gambling, 29 involved in illegal logging, 62 charged with illegal fishing, and 29 suspects for possesion of loose firearms.

In the same period, 127grams of shabu valued at Php 1,498,600 and 1,152grams of marijuana worth Php63,376 were confiscated by the operatives. Five drug personalities also died in the process of operations.

“We expect these figures to increase in the coming weeks as our focused police operations continue. These accomplishments serve as inspiration to every PNP personnel in bringing the anti-criminality campaign into greater heights,” RD Cruz said.

Meanwhile, among the 17 PNP regional offices, PRO13 ranked 2nd for the nationwide ranking on crime solution efficiency with 83.67% for September 2018 next to the National Capital Region Police Office with 83.89%.

Aside from the anti-criminality and crime-solving efforts, PRO13 is also preparing its security measures to make the 2019 elections more peaceful and safe for the Caraganons.

350 new police recruits take oath in Caraga

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City---A total of 350 new police recruits of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 took their oaths (October 15) before the PRO13 director, Chief Supt Gilberto DC Cruz.

The new recruits comprised of 251 male and 99 female surpassed the thorough examination and screening for the 2018 Police Officer 1 (PO1) Regular Recruitment Program.They will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,668 aside from other allowances.

“Remember that an oath of office is the mortar that binds us to the foundations of our government. Since you entered the realm of law enforcement, you have opted to follow a higher standard of integrity and conduct,” RD Cruz said.

The region’s police chief also reminded them to build their foundation on integrity and credibility and never engage in illegal activities.

As new PO1, they will be brought to the Regional Training Center 13 in Surigao City to undergo the six months mandatory training.

During the ceremony, members of the Regional Screening Committee were accorded with plaques of appreciation for their efforts in efficiently supervising the selection process, while families, relatives and friends witnessed the oath taking of the new police officers.

Madrid town in Surigao del Sur declared as drug-free

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City---- The Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Program in Caraga has declared the municipality of Madrid as drug-free during the ceremonial declaration around 9:00AM today (September 26) in Brgy. Quirino, Madrid, Surigao del Sur.

Based on the record of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 13, all 14 barangays of Madrid have met the parameters set by the Dangerous Drug Board.

In September 2018, Madrid is the third town declared as drug free in the province following the declaration of Tandag City on September 21 and Cantilan on September 24.

PNP Caraga director Chief Supt Gilberto DC Cruz thanked the members of the anti-drug abuse councils, the communities and all stakeholders which render assistance to the law enforcement agencies in the drug clearing operations.

He also added that the authorities would sustain the relentless pursuit of eradicating the drug menace not only in Surigao del Sur but also in other drug-affected communities in Caraga and maintain the drug-free status of the cleared areas.

PNP Caraga turns over 4 new patrol vehicles

Camp Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City --- Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 held the blessing and turn-over of four patrol vehicles to the recipient police offices during the activity yesterday (September 6).

Chief Supt Noli Romana, PRO13 director spearheaded the turn-over of brand new Toyota Innova patrol cars to the office of the Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Police-Community Relations Division and the Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division.

The arrival of the mobile assets from the National Headquarters is part of the PNP capability enhancement program.

“Our police offices have now support vehicles to be used during the conduct of activities, performance of law enforcement functions and other policing works. We will reciprocate this blessing through more improved services,” RD Romana said.

He also urged the police personnel to ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicles.
