120 Cops Undergo Community Anti-Terrorism Awareness Seminar

Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ---- The 120 chiefs of police and mobile force commanders in Caraga attended the two-day Community Anti-Terrorism Awareness Seminar that commenced on December 13 in Butuan City.

The speakers came from the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency and the PNP Directorate for Operations.

“This seminar is timely since aside from dealing with the common street crimes, we are also facing the threats posed by terrorism that disturbs security, stability and peace across the Caraga region and the entire nation,” Chief Superintendent Noli Romana, PNP Caraga Director said.

The region’s top cop concluded that terrorism is a threat to every Filipino who aspires for lasting peace and encourage people from different walks of life to become active and vigilant against terrorism and even criminality.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Deputy Director for Operations of the PNP National Headquarters, headed the facilitators and organizers of the activity.

Caraga police clashes with a lawless armed group in Surigao del Norte

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ---- Caraga police units were alerted after a gun battle erupted between the troops of Surigao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Communist Terrorists this morning in Km 12, Brgy. Trinidad, Surigao City.
Police Chief Superintendent Noli A Romana, Caraga Police Director, said that the troops from Surigao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company were conducting combat operation when they engaged undetermined numbers of Communist Terrorists from Sangay sa Partido Platoon (SPP) 16B, Guerilla Front Committee 16C, Northern Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee lead by alias “BLU”.
Romana said that after the 10 minutes exchange of gunfire, no casualty on the government troops were reported while undetermined on the enemy side. “A follow through operations are ongoing in the area,” he added.
Caraga police have established checkpoints in coordination with the other law enforcement agencies.
“Rest assured we will always continue to conduct peace and security operations to ensure the safety and security of the Caraganons,” he stated. PRO13 to join Human Rights Forum

Camp Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City------ Police Regional Office 13 will join the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and human rights advocates in a Human Rights Forum on Thursday with the theme: “Barugi ang Katungod sa Usa Ka Linalang Karon”.
“This forum fit in with the mandate of RA 9201, making the people aware of their basic rights in relation to the functions and services offered by different government offices that includes the PNP,” Police Chief Superintendent Noli A Romana said.
The Human Rights Forum will present the Human Rights Situationer in the region, salient features of the partnership agreements and signing of Memorandum of Understanding relative to Center of Human Rights Education.
“PRO13 firmly believed that the preservation of the dignity of every human being is a triumph of our democracy,” director Romana disclosed.

Bacuag’s top 3 most wanted person arrested in Cebu City

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City---- Top 3 most wanted person in the Bacuag town Surigao del Norte, Cesar Macorda Dela Cerna, was arrested today at Pier 1 Legaspe Extension, Brgy San Roque, Cebu City during a joint operation of the Bacuag Municipal Police Station and Cebu City Police Station 3, PRO13 director Chief Superintendent Noli A Romana said.
Del Cerna, who was in custody of Cebu City police was arrested based on a warrant for estafa issued by local court in Caraga region.
On the other hand, operatives of Tubod Municipal Police Station also arrested Felix Jacob Deloso, 43, in Brgy Marga, Tubod, Surigao del Norte.
Deloso, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Baliti, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte, was facing arrest warrant for attempted murder.
PRO13 director Chief Superintendent Romana disclosed that the arrests were made through intelligence-driven operations and the information given by the public.
