Butuan City cops get 7 new motorcycles

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- Senior Supt Augustus Percival Placer, Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) Director, received the seven new Kawasaki Rouser patrol motorcycles here early morning yesterday.

Chief Supt Noli Romana, Regional Director, spearheaded the ceremonial turn-over and blessing of the motorcycles which will be distributed to BCPO headquarters and five police stations in Butuan City.

“In line with the capability enhancement program of the PNP, these motorcycles would help beef up our police presence against criminality and lawlessness,” the region’s police chief said.

Based on the record, a total of 159 serviceable patrol motorcycles have been mobilized by the police forces in Caraga.

“We guarantee to the public that we are exerting best efforts to improve the delivery of police services in Caraga through the utilization of these logistical assets,” RD Romana added.

PRO13 major post reshuffle

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- The post for Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office Provincial Director was formally relinquished to its new successor during the Turn-Over Ceremony this day at Surigao del Norte Provincial Gymnasium .

According to PRO13 regional director, PCSUPT NOLI A ROMANA, Police Senior Superintendent RONELO D JAURIGUE, Chief Regional Investigation and Detection Management, has been appointed Provincial Director, replacing Police Senior Superintendent ANTHONY B MAGHARI, who served Surigao del Norte for one year and seven months.

PSSupt JAURIGUE’s former RIDM post was taken over by his deputy, Superintendent NILO T TEXON as Officer-in-Charge while PSSupt ANTHONY B MAGHARI will be assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit.

In his farewell speech, PSSUPT MAGHARI sincerely thanked all Uniformed and Non-Uniformed personnel for carrying their daily tasks and expressed his gratitude to the Local Chief Executives of Surigao del Norte for its untiring support to all PNP programs and projects initiated during his stewardship.

Meanwhile, the newly-installed Provincial Director, PSSUPT JAURIGUE stressed his plans and programs for the province giving emphasis on the individual worth of every policeman, one who is well-trained, committed to his work, courageous, honorable and one who is looked up to by the public. He also emphasized to continue the former provincial director’s program on peace and order and the fight against drugs and other crimes in the province.

PNP Caraga braces for Typhoon “Basyang”

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City----- Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 has activated the Disaster Operations Center around 7:00AM today for Tropical Storm “Basyang” to ensure readiness of PNP personnel and resources in affected areas.

Chief Supt NOLI A ROMANA, Regional Director, said that police units are monitoring the critical areas prone to floods and landslides in Caraga. He already ordered the police force to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations to affected areas.

PNP personnel trained in search and rescue and the logistical assets will be mobilized to help the affected residents in evacuation.

“We encourage everyone to prepare and be vigilant. The PNP Caraga, Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Local Government Units and other government agencies are working hand in hand to ensure the safety and security of the people,” Chief Supt ROMANA said.

Typhoon Basyang is on track to make landfall in Caraga region tomorrow morning, February 13.

Construction Worker, Provincial Engineer nabbed in buy-bust

Camp Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ---- Suspect on the drug watch list of Dinagat Islands Police Provincial Office and an employee of Provincial Engineering of Dinagat were arrested by the operatives in a buy-bust operation at Galaxy Lodge, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte yesterday.
PCSUPT NOLI A ROMANA identified the suspects as Jimmy Deguenio Bongat, 33, construction worker and a resident of Kaskag, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City, and Engr. Constantine Marcelo Garrido, 31, of Brgy. Ferdinand, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands. Confiscated from the suspects were 11 sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth Php11,800.00 and Php500.00 marked money.
“A drug-free Caraga has always been our goal. That is why our police force and the PDEA are doing their best to run after those involved in illegal drug activities,” PCSUPT ROMANA in a statement.
The top official lauded his policemen in maintaining aggressive campaign against illegal drugs through continuous crackdown against drug users and pushers.

PRO13 nets wanted persons

Camp Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ---- A total of 12 wanted persons facing criminal charges were nabbed by personnel from different police stations in provincial police offices including top 9 most wanted person by virtue of warrants of arrest as police continued manhunts for criminal suspects in Region 13 today.

Chief Superintendent NOLI A ROMANA, Police Regional Office 13 director, said arrested persons have warrants for offenses ranging from traffic violations to heinous crimes.

Police served three warrants in Agusan del Sur, four in Surigao del Sur, two in Surigao del Norte, two in Butuan City, and one in Agusan del Norte.

Among those arrested was Lasoy Alcantara, who was ranked ninth on the list of most wanted persons in San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.

According to PCSUPT ROMANA, operatives nabbed Recardo Cabiling, who is wanted for attempted murder; James Somoso and Jerry Payagan, who are facing a charge for theft; Joven Selle and Emilia for traffic violation; Bryan Saysor and Norma for illegal gambling; Ramil Laurente for homicide; Arnesto Canoy for grave threats and direct assault and for the crime of estafa also arrested were Josephine, Belar Nemecio Gomez and Edna.

“Expect more arrests these coming days as we carry on our campaign to put lawless elements and wanted persons behind bars,” PCSUPT ROMANA said.
